Geospatial Co-production Gregg Badger gregg.r.badger@nga.mil 301-227-3805

Project plan Entire region divided up by 1/4 cells (30’x30’) Participants produce X number of cells (to be determined) of feature vector data at 1:50-1:100 scale Produce over your own country Border areas to be decided between the countries involved Does not include boundary, elevation and geonames Data housed in central location Data is shared among participants based on contribution factor

Why Co-produce and share? Co-production leverages capabilities for mutually beneficial purposes To use a standard specification and dataset Creates Interoperability and opportunity for applications of spatial data Single regional data set using ISO based data standards ISO 19115 (Metadata), ISO 19110 (features) Supports multiple uses Cross border studies, hardcopy map production, analysis and examination of regional development and multi-country issues Prevention, attention to, and mitigation of the effects caused by natural disasters GPS, navigation, and other applications drive the need for higher accuracy Supports first responders in times of crisis

Program basics Output: data, not products Horizontal Accuracy: 25 meters or less Format: 2D shapefiles Density/Portrayal: 1:50K or 1:100K or both Common data review software tool

Next steps Hold 1-2 day workshop at upcoming PAIGH meeting Develop MOU Establishes participating organizations and project understanding Participants to adopt/develop specifications and planned contributions Procure funding Database Meetings
