ANDY GOLDSWORTHY ART BORN IN THE 50’, Andy Goldsworthy is a British sculptor, photographer and environmentalist. producing site-specific sculpture and land art situated in natural and urban settings. He lives and works in Scotland

Andy Goldsworthy creates sculptures out of nothing but materials found in the particular environment in which he is at work—driftwood, stones, leaves, sticks, icicles, snow.

Goldsworthy photographs his work before it collapses, melts, gets washed away, or is otherwise transformed, and until now it has been viewed primarily through photographs.  

ANDY GOLDSWORTHY PHILOSOPHY “When I’m working with materials it’s not just the leaf or the stone, it’s the processes that are behind them that are important. That’s what I’m trying to understand, not a single isolated object but nature as a whole.”
