TITLE IX MATTERS (The Illinois Preventing Sexual Violence in Higher Education Act) Compliance w/ Title IX: Federal & State Training Requirements Public Act 99-0426, effective August 1, 2016 ( 500 Campuses affected )

“Sexual assault on campus is a serious issue of national concern “Sexual assault on campus is a serious issue of national concern. Federal laws, including Title IX, VAWA and the Clery Act require educational institutions to provide training that addresses sex discrimination and sexual violence. At Judson University we want to be a safe place for God’s people and a good steward of the students he is entrusting us with for the next four, five or six years.” At Judson University

TITLE IX BASICS “Issues of Sexual Misconduct” “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefit of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal Financial assistance.” Prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs and activities. Colleges & Universities must have procedures for students to file complaints of sexual discrimination. Colleges & Universities must be proactive in establishing a campus free of sexual discrimination. Colleges must have and distribute a policy against sex discrimination.
