What Jesus Taught about the Judgment

“Fear God and give glory to Him for the hour of His judgment has come – Revelation 14:7 NKJV

“We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body,” –2 Corinthians 5:10a NKJV

“...according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” –2 Corinthians 5:10a NKJV

“For every idle word men [and women] may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.” –Matthew 12:36 NKJV

1. Jesus Himself is the Judge.

“For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son.” –John 5:22 NKJV

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” –Matthew 11:28 NKJV

“The Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.” –Luke 19:10 NKJV

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” –Luke 19:10 NKJV

Jesus Himself is the Judge.

2. Jesus will identify all those who belong to Him.

“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.” –Matthew 25:31 NKJV

“All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another…” –Matthew 25:32a NKJV

“…as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats “…as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.” –Matthew 25:32b, 33 NKJV

“Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:” –Matthew 25:34 NKJV

3. For those who belong to Jesus, the outcome of the judgment is already settled.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life…” –John 5:24a NKJV

“…and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” –John 5:24b NKJV

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.” –John 6:47 NKJV

“He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” –Isaiah 53:5 NKJV

“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” –Isaiah 53:6 NKJV

For those who belong to Jesus, the judgment is good news!
