3 Exploring 1v1 Moves 1 Technique Skill Wave practice – 1v1 Transition with 4 Goals. Attack – Defence – Return to team (general rotation.) A new attacker starts the game as soon as the player opposing player scores in one of your goals. That attacker then has to become a defender against a new player. Attacker must get passed the opposing orange line to score. This will force players to try and beat their opposing player. Progression – Create 2v2/Make it a 2 Goal Game/ Add a neutral player. Competition – If you score after using a move to beat a defender you get 3 points. Remember though Space = Speed. 1 3 Technique Start with a Tag game – players have to work their way through the corridor and beat the 1 defender who holds a bib in the middle. If they get tagged they rotate positions with the defender. Introduce footballs – players are split into two separate lines. Once the pair in front of them get passed the orange cones, the next pair go. Players once they get to the end of the corridor must perform different 1v1 moves on the way back. Players have to move in different patterns across the corridor using a variety of different areas of the foot. Add traffic by getting the grid to be multidirectional. Allow players to show a move – and use that for the group to practice across the corridor. Add competition – Who can get the most touches? SSG Separate groups into two teams with 2 feeders Red’s v Blues – normal principles of play. Remind players of what we have been working on. Highlight who try to use 1v1 moves to try and beat the player in front of them. If the ball goes out of play – players can either pass or dribble in. If they beat a player from a side line – they get a goal.

Challenges + Coaching to help your players Challenges relating to theme Other Challenges relating to individual Sneak a look Try to communicate with a player before receiving the ball 1b.
