English 2/Honors English 2 Extra Credit English 2/Honors English 2

Extra Credit The Family Center is hosting their annual Thanksgiving Box charity event. Their plan is to receive donations for 500 Thanksgiving Boxes to give to families in need this Thanksgiving. Since we are approaching on the Season of Giving, why not feel good about donating to those in need as well as getting extra credit points for your lowest grade!?!

How? The Family Center is asking for the following food items for each Thanksgiving Box: I would prefer you to not bring an entire turkey to class because I will not be able to turn in these donations every day. If you would like to donate an entire turkey, let’s talk about it after class. 10-15 lb. Turkey 1 box or bag of Stuffing 4 Cans of Green Beans 1 Can of Cranberry Sauce 2 Boxes of Macaroni and Cheese 1 Bag of Marshmallows 1 can/jar/package of Gravy 4 Cans of Yams or Sweet Potatoes 4 Cans of Corn 1 Disposable Turkey Roasting Pan

How? For each item on the list that you bring in, you will receive one extra credit point. Make sure you let me know that you are donating, do not place your donations into the box without letting me know. The maximum number of extra credit points I will give one student for his/her donation is 10 points. Ex. If you bring in 10 boxes of Macaroni and Cheese, you will receive 10 extra points on your lowest grade. Check for sales at your grocery store! A lot of canned items can be found for $0.50.

For the over achievers If you are filled to the brim with the giving spirit and want to donate an entire Thanksgiving Box (without the turkey), I will drop your lowest grade of Quarter 2. READ THAT AGAIN If you donate an entire Thanksgiving Box (sans turkey) I WILL DROP YOUR LOWEST GRADE FOR QUARTER 2. (We’re talking the difference between a “C” or a high “B” or even possibly, an “A”.)

Thanksgiving Box 10-15 lb.
