What are the judging criteria? Be Prepared! What are the judging criteria? Project Planning Creativity Usefulness Technical Understanding Engineering Design Process Pitch and Presentation Prep

Preparing your project Use SMART questions to create a SMART project and pitch. Be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-oriented.

Judges are people, too! What would you want to hear? Put yourself in their shoes. Judges are people, too! What would you want to hear?

Do your research. What are the judging criteria? How does your project fit? What can you find out about the judges?

Make your pitch and story accessible. Remember, the judges are going to hear a lot of pitches. What makes yours stand out?

Keep your slide decks simple. People love infographics, icons and pictures that tell a story.

Demonstrate your knowledge. Show the judges that you understand the problem and your target users. Use simple data and stories to make the judges care.

Use simple words and concepts that are memorable. “Make your project stand out!” Use simple words and concepts that are memorable.

Now you are on your way. Don’t forget to practice your pitch, time yourself, and get feedback from others about how you can improve it.
