Patent Policy and Procedures: The contributor is familiar with the IEEE 802 Patent Policy and Procedures <http:// ieee802.org/guides/bylaws/sb-bylaws.pdf>, including the statement "IEEE standards may include the known use of patent(s), including patent applications, provided the IEEE receives assurance from the patent holder or applicant with respect to patents essential for compliance with both mandatory and optional portions of the standard." Early disclosure to the TAG of patent information that might be relevant to the standard is essential to reduce the possibility for delays in the development process and increase the likelihood that the draft publication will be approved for publication. Please notify the Chair <shellhammer@ieee.org> as early as possible, in written or electronic form, if patented technology (or technology under patent application) might be incorporated into a draft standard being developed within the IEEE 802.19 TAG. Abstract This presentation provides decision topology definitions. March 2012 Abstract This presentation provides decision topology definitions. Hyunduk Kang, et al, ETRI

March 2012 Introduction Decision topology among CMs is for management service only Decision topology among CMs is categorized by three cases; Autonomous Distributed Centralized Different decision topology among CMs describes how the CM make decisions on the WSOs that it serves in the coexistence sets considering other CMs Regardless of decision topology, information sharing among CMs shall be required. Hyunduk Kang, et al, ETRI

Definitions on Decision Making March 2012 Definitions on Decision Making Centralized decision making between two CMs is performed when one CM relegates its decisions to another CM. Distributed decision making between two CMs is performed when one CM makes its decisions in coordination with another CM. Autonomous decision making between two CMs is performed when one CM makes its decisions independently from another CM. Hyunduk Kang, et al, ETRI

Definitions on Topology (1/2) March 2012 Definitions on Topology (1/2) Autonomous When a CM applies autonomous decision making, it makes decisions on the WSOs it serves independently from other CMs. Through information sharing among CMs, the output of decision making of one CM shall be informed to other CMs so that other CMs would take advantage of the output of the CM, and the CM vice versa. Distributed When a CM applies distributed decision making, it makes decisions on the WSOs it serves and the WSOs that are members of the coexistence sets in coordination with other CMs. One CM would determine decision making after coordinating among other CMs. Hyunduk Kang, et al, ETRI

Definitions on Topology (2/2) March 2012 Definitions on Topology (2/2) Centralized When a CM applies centralized decision making, it may act at either a master CM or slave CM. The master CM makes decisions on all WSOs that both the master CM serves and slave CMs serve. Master CM selection is prerequisite for CMs participating in centeralized topology Hyunduk Kang, et al, ETRI
