Unit 1 PRESENTATIONS

Why do people give presentations? to give information, train people, stimulate interest, provoke discussion, gain support Have you ever given a presentation? Tell your partner what it was like. A friend of yours is going to give a presentation. Write down some tips for him/her on what to do and what not to do.

DO look confident, enthusiastic speak clearly, use formal language and register keep slides short and clear, use visuals keep eye contact with your audience keep good body language smile, enjoy yourself use humor, tell stories

DON‘T use too much humor use informal English read from the board or notes stand with your back to the audience speak with a mono-tone voice overcrowd your slides with text use bullet points
