In practice however we know that someone else doesn’t always understand what we say. We can often hear people say in bewilderment “ I didn’t mean that at all”. In order to fully understand how the communication cycle works, we need to add two more elements which enable us to see how a message can change between the sender and receiver even though the sender thinks s/he is being perfectly clear in what they say.
