How is the body organized?. Cell  Microscopic  Made up of organelles  All living things are made up of cells.
What Are Cells?. What are Cells? 1. A cell is a basic unit of structure and function in all living things; therefore, all living things are made up of.
system  Every living thing has parts that work together to create a whole – This is called a system. body  Your body works because it runs on an organized.
Review.  What part of the cell allows some materials to enter and other materials to exit?  What process do most cells use to get energy?  Red blood.

Cells that work together to perform a specific function tissue

Living thing that is too small to see without a microscope Microorganism

Groups of tissues that work together to carry out a certain function. organ

Fungus that is a microorganism mold

The basic unit of structure and function in living things. cell

Organs that work together to do a job for the body. Organ System

Mircoorganisms that include algae and protozoans protists

Kind of microorganism shaped like rods, spirals, or balls. Bacteria

What structure is found in a plant cell but not in an animal cell? Cell wall

Where is connective tissue found in your body? bones

Microorganisms can be Helpful and harmful

Name one way that microorganisms can be harmful? Causing red tides

What is the basic unit of structure and function of all living things? cell

What would happen if a cell had no nucleus? A cell would not function without a nucleus. The nucleus directs all the cell’s activities. Without a nucleus, the cell may not be able to do everything it needs to for survival.

What do you think would happen to the function of the circulatory system if it did not contain any muscle tissue? Without muscle tissue, the circulatory system would not be able to pump blood to all the parts of the body.
