Technical Regulations NOMENCLATURE 2009 English release of March 31 st, 2009 Start
Technical regulations principles The parts that constitute the RENAULT SPORT Clio « Cup » are in three categories. CATEGORY « A » : No modification is authorised. The parts classed in this category must remain in their original position and fulfill the function for which it was intended. These parts must be original RENAULT SPORT or RENAULT. No adaptation of the part is permitted. CATEGORY « B » : Parts of the category A being the subject of specific prescriptions. Only the modifications or prescriptions indicated in the regulations, in the « nomenclature » or in a technical bulletin edited during the 2009 season, are authorised. CATEGORY « C » : The parts classed in this category are considered to be unrestricted, on the express condition that the original function is not bypassed and that no supplementary functions are added. They must also be located in the same position as the genuine part. Unless otherwise stated, they must be present. Adapted parts are permitted, but must be submitted for approval to the RENAULT SPORT Scrutineers before being used.. NB : - The set of items or subassemblies that make up a part or assembly are deemed to belong to the same category as the part or assembly in question. - The various technical verifications can be performed by means of a comparison between the part to be verified and the corresponding new and original RENAULT SPORT or RENAULT part. - The pictures published in this document only aim at making the nomenclature easier to understand. These pictures cannot be used for any comparison with original vehicle parts Marking of specific parts Some parts belonging to the A or B categories are specially marked (Hologram or engraving). The fact that these parts are marked guarantees the origin of these parts, and only marked parts are allowed. A non-marked part will be considered as a technical non-conformity. NB : the attendance of the marking cannot be use as an argument in case of a non conformity noticed during the technical scrutineering. Fasteners (nuts and bolts) With the exception of specific screws classed in category A in the nomenclature, all fastenings are unrestricted, provided they respect the following criteria: - same diameter, - same thread pitch, -same material as genuine parts (example : a steel screw cannot be replaced by a screw from an other material), - the mechanical properties of the genuine part must also be maintained (example : a 8.8 quality screw can be replaced by a 10.8 quality screw, but the opposite is not allowed) To ensure the tightening of the screw, it is allowed to use lock wire. Washers belong to the category « C » unless otherwise stated in the nomenclature and may be removed. All the parts that are not represented in the nomenclature systematically belong to category « A » except in the above-mentioned case. NB : Any addition of parts or assembly of parts that do not feature in the nomenclature must be approved by RENAULT SPORT..
