As we discuss understanding your PreACT results, keep these essential questions in mind (read questions). Remember, that your response to these questions should serve as a guide to understanding your individual results.

PreACT Overview Your PreACT Student Report shows relative strength and weaknesses in English, Math, Reading, and Science Your PreAct Student Report shows you how well you are learning the skills you need to be ready for college Just like grades, your scores tell you how well you did on each test. Your scores are between 1 (the lowest score) and 35 (the highest score). 2nd Bullet-at the end add by looking at the 4 subject areas. Since the PreACT is shorted than the full length ACT, the maximum score is 35. Whereas the maximum score for ACT is 36. The PreACT is reported on the same score scales

Your STEM score is the average of Math and Science test scores. PreACT Overview Your PreACT score ranges are shown on your Student Report by the colored boxes on the graph. ACT’s Readiness Benchmark scores shows if you are on track to be ready for 1st-year college courses. Your Composite Score is simply the average of the English, Math, Reading, and Science test scores. Your STEM score is the average of Math and Science test scores. STEM score predicts how well you will do in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math 1st-year college courses.

50% chance of getting B or higher 75% chance of getting C or higher PRE-ACT SCORES PREDICT COLLEGE READINESS ACT’s Readiness Benchmarks Benchmark scores predict likelihood of earning certain grades in corresponding college courses later. 50% chance of getting B or higher 75% chance of getting C or higher Scores at or above the benchmark (indicated by the black lines lines on your report) means that your have a 50% chance of getting a B or higher and a 75% chance of getting a C or higher in 1st year college courses.

Page 1 Your Score Report… In looking at your individual subject scores, remember that these are estimates of your educational development. How well you preformed on this test is shown by the bands around your score (remember this is a range of achievement and not exact).

Page 2 Your Score Report… Page 2 of your High School Course Plans is based on what you shared that you plan to take. If your self report was not accurate in terms of meeting the graduation requirements for the state of GA, you might find that you are not on track for a college prep core curriculum. You should be on track with core if you reported accurately when you took the exam.

The shaded area is what you prefer or could like as a career. Compare your predicted ACT composite score range to what successful college students in majors related to your career area often have. You are on track if your predicted score range overlaps or is above your profile for success score. Refer to actprofile.org to find out more information related to your career interest.
