Stem Cell Undifferentiated cells that give rise to other types of cells

Stem Cell Totipotent=gives rise to all the tissues needed by the body as well as the placenta Zygote

Stem Cells

Stem Cell Pluripotent=can give rise to all other types of cells Embryonic stem cells-taken from blastocyst stage of embryos donated at fertility clinic

Stem Cell Multipotent=(Somatic Stem Cells) give rise to multiple cells needed in the tissue they come from (they are NOT pluripotent) Adult stem cells example:Hematopoietic (Blood stem cells-donor bone marrow)
