Belleville’s B.A.N.K: Rewarding Behaviors All Need to Know Assembly presentation

Purpose & Outcome Our school is an environment that fosters mutual respect for all, so that well-rounded, lifelong learners become 21st century leaders. Belleville’s BANK system will be described for all staff and students We will review the behaviors and expectations that result in a respectful, cooperative, and fun place to learn. We will review the process for rewarding BANK-able behaviors We will be able to remember and practice all the points reviewed at the assembly.

What are BANK-able behaviors? Behaviors All Need to Know BANK-able behaviors show respect to all staff and students Some BANK-able behaviors are the same in all areas Other BANK-able behaviors are specific to a particular area All students will be rewarded with Belleville BUCKS dollars when he or she demonstrates BANK-able behaviors!

What does it mean to be BUCKS? Being Upstanding Cooperative Kindhearted Students

What can you do to be BUCKS? School Rules will be posted in all areas of the school Some rules are the same in all areas Other rules are specific to a particular area Whenever you are seen following these rules, you could earn Belleville BUCKS dollars from a teacher or staff member that sees you! Let’s review the rules…

Hallway / Stairs Go directly to your destination Walk carefully Keep hands and feet to yourself Use a quiet voice Stay to the right-hand side

Lunchroom / Cafeteria Walk at all times Line up properly Use a quiet voice Remain seated while eating Clean your are/Throw away all trash Ask for permission to leave the lunchroom

Classroom Pay attention Keep your hands and feet to yourself Use a quiet voice Raise your hand to speak Respect all teachers and students

Bathrooms Use a quiet voice Use toilets and sink appropriately Wash your hands before leaving the bathroom Keep away from all windows

Playground/ Recess Respect all peers, adults, and property Ask for permission to use the restroom Show safe play Use appropriate language Only run in designated areas

Bus / Waiting for the Bus Use a quiet voice Respect all teachers and students Use appropriate language Remain seated with your seatbelt on Wait to eat or drink after you are off the bus

Earning Belleville BUCKS Dollars! Teachers and staff are always looking to see who is following the rules. When you follow the rules in these areas, you can earn Belleville BUCKS! You may receive Belleville BUCKS any time you are following the rules that are posted. All staff including teachers, custodians, bus drivers, secretaries, and nurses can hand out BUCKS dollars.

Earning Belleville BUCKS Dollars! The more rules you follow, the more BUCKS you will earn! There is NO LIMIT on how many BUCKS you can earn. Even if you haven’t earned BUCKS in a while, you can still earn them at any time.

Class Bank for BUCKS Dollars! Your class can also earn BUCKS and save them in a Class Bank The class can earn rewards as a group. Help your friends earn Belleville BUCKS! The more BUCKS your classmates have, the more BUCKS that will be in your Class Bank! Remind your friends and classmates about the rules that earn BUCKS. Be role models for younger students

Keeping Track of your BUCKS… Grades K-2 Every student begins the school year with $10 in Belleville Bucks Your BUCKS will go into individual envelopes on a bulletin board Teachers will keep track of your BUCKS on ClassDojo Your class will also have a “Class Bank" of BUCKS that the class earns Grades 3-5 Every student begins the school year with $10 in Belleville Bucks Students will keep running tally of bucks in a private form (check- book) Teachers will keep track of your BUCKS on ClassDojo Your class will also have a “Class Bank" of BUCKS that the class earns

What do you do with Belleville BUCKS?? Use your BUCKS to buy fun things! You will store the BUCKS until you would like to use them to purchase fun things such as free time, activities, and other rewards in the school. Once you have earned enough BUCKS to buy what you want, you can use your BUCKS to buy privileges, activities, items from a prize box, and other rewards! Spending BUCKS You will have to pay the BUCKS to your teacher or principal.
