There are lots of different sorts of toys and games in the world today. Some of them are very different to the toys that were made long ago and some of the are very similar. Let’s have a look at some toys.

Who would play with toys like these? Can you guess?

Some toys are mainly for boys and some are mainly for girls Some toys are mainly for boys and some are mainly for girls. Can you sort them out? Tell me who might choose these. girls boys

What about this truck? Can you spot any differences? Look at this toy car. Is it old or new? What about this truck? Can you spot any differences?

Here are some more old toys Here are some more old toys. Would you like to play with toys like these?

More Old Fashioned Toys Lots of toys from years ago are not too different to things we like to play with now. This tricycle is over 70 years old but children still play with tricycles today.

This old tricycle has an unusual horse design!

These blocks are not too different from blocks you might play with.

Toy soldiers were very popular and were often made of metal.

In Victorian times little girls liked to play with prams and dolls.

This metal Slinky is nearly 60 years old These plastic ones are much newer!

Modern dolls are usually made of plastic. These are old fashioned clockwork dolls. They are made of wood and metal Modern dolls are usually made of plastic.

Toys at school When we are at school we play with toys that are quite new but often they are similar to the toys our grandparents played with! Let’s look at some toys we might have in school.

This little girl is having a good time playing on this tricycle! It’s much smaller and more brightly coloured than the one we saw earlier!

These children have brightly coloured wooden blocks.

Although wooden blocks are still popular there are lots of interesting plastic construction toys as well!

Children of all ages play ball at school and at home.

What do you like to play with? Choose your favourite toy from these.

I hope you have enjoyed this look at different types of toys.
