Becoming a Psychologist

ON AVERAGE… How many years does it take to get an Associate’s Degree? Bachelor’s Degree? Master’s Degree? Are there any special requirements for completing these degrees? If so, what are they?

How to Become a Psychologist Minimum requirements to practice psychology: - Bachelor’s Degree - Master’s Degree - Doctoral Degree (Published Dissertation) - Pass state licensing exam

Fields of Psychology

Psychological Professions 1. Developmental Psychology - studies human mental and physical growth from the womb through old age. 2. Neuroscience and Physiological Psychology - investigates the biological basis of human behavior, thoughts, and emotions.

Psychological Professions 3. Personality Psychology - studies differences in individuals’ anxiety, sociability, self-esteem, etc. 4. Clinical and Counseling Psychology - interested in the diagnosis, cause, and treatment of psychological disorders
