Lesson 1: Cut, Copy, and Paste Tools Objectives: Use editing tools to copy and paste text Use editing tools to cut and paste text

Copying, Cutting, Pasting, and the Clipboard

Copying, Cutting, Pasting, and the Clipboard

Copying, Cutting, Pasting, and the Clipboard The paste command does not delete or alter information in the clipboard.

Copy and Paste Copying creates a duplicate of the information. Pasting the information results in two instances of the same information.

Copy Options Options to copy information to the clipboard: 1. Click the Edit tab, and then click Copy. 2. Press the Ctrl+C keyboard shortcut.

Paste Options Options to copy information to the clipboard: 1. Click the Edit tab, and then click Paste. 2. Press the Ctrl+V keyboard shortcut.

Cut and Paste Cut removes the information and places in in the clipboard. Pasting the information essentially results in moving the information.

Cut Options Cut options: 1. Click the Edit tab, and then Cut. 2. Press the Ctrl+X keyboard shortcut.

Paste Options (same as before) Options to copy information to the clipboard: 1. Click the Edit tab, and then click Paste. 2. Press the Ctrl+V keyboard shortcut.
