Ads in Your Life You see ads every day. What makes you want to buy something? What grabs your attention? What is a ‘slogan’?

Display Boards How many of you have been in a science fair or know someone who has? How did they display their findings to judges or an audience? How do they present it and make it interesting? Did they make it look professional or just fun?

Colors What colors contrast or go against each other? What would a purple crayon look like on black paper? What would a yellow crayon look like on white paper? Test different colors on the construction paper.

Font Font is what your words will look like on the display board. Look at the given fonts. Which ones should you use? Small, hard to read font or large, easy to read font?

Adding Pictures Pictures help your audience visualize your invention and how it will work. However, you don’t want to try and put text over a picture because it can be hard to read.

Information You Need The information you need to display includes: A title- This might be the name of your product. Pictures of your product in use A slogan How the invention works The problem your invention solves Information about yourself Your Inventor’s Log A description of your product and the building process

Make Your Own! Design the display board using the pieces provided. Fold your construction paper into three sections based on the picture in the next slide. Make decisions about where to place everything, what colors you should use, and design your own display board!
