FIRST PERSON POINT OF VIEW First person point of view (POV): Someone is telling you their story or ideas, or you are talking about yourself WORDS: I, me, my, we, us, mine Examples: I think I lost my wallet! I can’t find it anywhere! Oh, I could just kick myself! We could do ourselves a favor and make a reservation for our group.

SECOND PERSON POINT OF VIEW Second person point of view (POV): Someone is telling you what to do or how to do something WORDS: You, your, yours Examples: You can wait in here and make yourself at home. You should be proud of yourselves for finishing this enormous project!

THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW Third person point of view (POV): Is like a camera recording of events or a narrator explaining from outside of the story WORDS: He, she, they, them, it Tiffany used her prize money from the science fair to buy herself a new microscope. The concert goers roared their approval when they realized they’d be getting an encore.
