The Endangered Species Act 1973, 1982, 1985, 1988 (ESA) By: Aaron Dockter

First signed into law by Richard Nixon in 1973 “An Act to provide for the conservation of endangered and threatened species of fish, wildlife, and plants, and for other purposes.” Protected certain species that were in critical need of safety and preservation

Currently administered by the Fish and Wildlife Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Over 2000 species on the endangered and threatened species list Some success stories that came from this act are bald eagles, grizzly bear, grey wolf, red wolf, whooping crane
