المواد البلاستيكية مواد خفيفة الوزن. تعدد الالوان الواسع . عازلة للكهرباء. مقاومة للصدأ والتأكل.

PET : Poly etheylene terpthalate. ويستحدم لعلب الماء والعصير والصودا.

HDPE: High density poly ethylene. ويستخدم لعلب الشامبو والمنظفات ولعب الاطفال.

PVC or V: Poly vinyl chloride ويستخدم لصناعة خراطيم المياه وانابيب الصرف الصحي وتغليف الاسلاك الكهربائية

LDPE: Low density poly ethylene. ويستخدم لصناعة علب السيديات وبعض القوارير واكياس التسوق.

PP: Poly propylene. ويستخدم لصناعة حوافظ الطعام والصحون وعلب الادوية.

PS:Poly styrene ويستخدم لصناعة علب البرغر واكواب الشاي.

Other plastics هدا النوع لايقع تحت اي تصنيف من الانواع الست السابقة وقد يكون عبارة عن خليط منها .وتستخدم لصناعة قوارير الماء الكبيرة واغلفة الاجهزة الالكترونية.
