Land relief Mountain ranges UNIT 6 Land relief Mountain ranges These are large groups of mountains spread over a wide area. Examples of mountain ranges include the Pyrenees and the Alps in Europe, the Andes in South America and the Rocky Mountains in North America. Natural Science 2. UNIT 6 Land relief Plains These are large areas of flat land, sometimes found at high elevations. They form the largest part of continental land relief. When located at high elevations, they are called plateaus. Examples of plateaus are the Meseta Central and the European Plain in Europe and the Great Plains in North America. Natural Science 2.
