farrier A farrier is someone who makes horse shoes and fits them to the horse’s hooves. Farriers are quite rare these days, but much needed during horse shows and competitions.

gait – noun – The movement a horse does. There are 4 main gaits- walk, trot, lope (or canter), and gallop. Beginning riders usually stick to a trotting gait and leave cantering and galloping to more seasoned riders.
