Century Tiger Football

What tiger football is all about: Program – We are going to do what is best for the PROGRAM and we expect the same from YOU Team- Team needs always come before your individual needs. Football is a TEAM sport, not an individual sport Self- Do your job and take care of your own business. Your actions should always be about helping you AND your team get better. There is no I in T-E-A-M Gentlemen – Scholars – Athletes!! In that order YOU MAY BE MOVED FROM ONE TEAM TO ANOTHER BASED ON EFFORT, ATTITUDE, CITIZENSHIP, GRADES OR OTHER COACHES DISCRETION DETENTION = LOSING STARTING ROLE AND/OR LOSS OF PLAYING TIME

Century Tiger Athletes do the following: Always be POSITIVE - Be a good teammate. Help and encourage ALL teammates. Never blame or put anyone down. Coaches coach, players play! Be respectful to EVERYONE – Respect your coaches, teammates, opponents, officials etc. Always give your best- We are only as good as our weakest link! Play like you practice and practice HARD. Win with class and lose with dignity- There is always a winner and always a loser. If you cant handle that then don’t play! No showboating or pouting Understand that wins are Earned- The will to win comes from within, it can’t be coached. YOU have to want it and make it happen. There is no substitute for hard work and determination. NEVER QUIT! – Real competitors never quit, no matter what the circumstances.

You will play the position(s) that the coaches decide is best for the team! Games are won or lost in the trenches (Offensive Line and Defensive Line) Not everyone can be a QB/RB/WR. Sorry that’s just how it is. It takes ALL 11 guys on EVERY play – ONE play can be the difference between a win and a loss

Other Business Change into your practice pants at lunch Handle your business in class so you can be released at 3:10 (Up to your teacher!) Talk to coaches about equipment issues before school or at recess, don’t wait until practice starts! Get help with ear pads, chin straps, etc. from other players BEFORE practice starts Be in your lines ready to go by 3:20, don’t stand around and wait for coaches Take care of all your gear, DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING LAYING AROUND Be a student of the game and have fun! Watch some football on the weekends and try to learn some things about the game (Especially your position) PRACTICE ENDS AT 4:20! YOU NEED TO BE PICKED UP BY 4:30 NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!
