Joint Documentation on Coordination of Measures The OSPAR Joint Documentation on Coordination of Measures (MSFD) will support the EU Member States party to OSPAR in reporting to the European Commission on their MSFD Programmes of Measures capture coherence and coordination already in place identify possibilities for future coordination and coherence on measures related to the MSFD.

Part 1: Existing coherence and coordination per Descriptor Existing coherence, coordination and cooperation on 3 levels: Regional level: overview of the existing coordination and cooperation at the regional level based on the OSPAR Acquis   EU/international level: aims to signify coherence, based on an overview of relevant EU legislation, other agreements and conventions that contribute to achieving MSFD National level: shows cross-border coordination and cooperation between two or more Contracting Parties relevant to the MSFD, as flagged by the Contracting Parties.

Part 2: Possibilities for future coordination and cooperation per Descriptor Future coherence, coordination and cooperation on 2 levels: Regional level: possibilities for future coordination and cooperation, based on conclusions from the OSPAR Committees National level:  items that Contracting Parties have flagged to be taken up for further consider on a (sub) regional scale

Roadmap 2nd Draft in OSPAR Coordination Group on 11 and 12 November Finalisation and online publication of the Joint Documentation on Coordination of Measures by February 2016 Ready for use in National reporting by the end of February 2016 Can be used by EU MS in full, or in relevant parts

Conclusions This is an OSPAR initiative, meant to enhance coherence within the RSC We are happy to share this information And it might be a relevant and interesting approach for other RSCs But no need for WG ESA volunteers However….
