LibQual Survey Core categories: Affect of Service – 9 questions Information Control – 8 questions Library as Place – 5 questions Other categories: CARL questions – 5 questions Information literacy/outcomes – 5 questions Satisfaction – 3 questions Use of libraries and search gateways – 3 questions Demographics – 5 questions

LibQual Survey For each question asked from a core category and the CARL questions, respondents are asked to rank on a scale of 1 (low) to 9 (high) their: Minimum service level Desired service level Perceived service performance

Interpreting the results Minimum service level Number we don’t want to go below Desired service level Measure of importance to the user, potential goal Perceived service performance User perception of how we are doing For every question we are given the average score for each user group as well as an overall category score.
