Presidents Day   The ancient Greeks loved heroes. The word "hero" comes from the Greeks.

Presidents In the United States, in 1971, the 3rd Monday in February was set aside to honor two of our heroes. These heroes both had birthdays in February and both, at different times, Day Mystery Heroes had a very special job – president of the United States. Do you know who they are?

Presidents Hint – One of these heroes was our first president! He was a very capable general during the Revolutionary War. He is known as the Father of Our County. He is also known as the man who could not tell a lie. His wife was Martha. His real name is … Day

Presidents Day Washington George

Presidents Day Hint - The other hero was president during the Civil War (also called the War Between the States, also called The War of Northern Aggression). He freed the slaves! He is known as Honest Abe. His wife was Mary. His real name is …

Presidents Day Abraham Lincoln

Presidents Day This special day in February is called Presidents Day. Presidents Day can also be written as President’s Day or Presidents’ Day.

As time went by, people in the United States decided it was rather silly to honor only two of our presidents on Presidents Day, when all of our presidents are heroes, and all have accomplished great things.

Today, Presidents Day is a federal holiday that honors all our presidents, as it should. Counting our current president, Obama Barack, there have been 44 presidents of the United States. To learn more about the personalities and achievements of these special men, real heroes every one, click here: Presidents Day! Presidents Day
