Math Students will continue Unit 2 and will be learning about estimating sums and differences. Students will review Unit 2 on Wednesday and have a test on Unit 2 on Thursday. The students will have a facts quiz on Friday on subtraction facts. This test will go in the gradebook. Please practice subtraction facts at home. Science/Social Studies Reading We will take another week to work on unit 1 week 4 materials because of Scantron and swimming field trip Unit 1 week 4: EQ: How can problem solving lead to new ideas? Genre: biography, Comprehension: ask and answer questions, cause and effect, Vocabulary: metaphors, Grammar: predicates, Writing: word choice Vocabulary Words: design, encouraged, examine, investigation, quality, simple, solution, substitutes Spelling words: plain, braid, fail, grain, snail, paint, sway, tray, gray, stay, state, fake, same, weigh, they Science – Students will be reading a blue print to build their standard vehicle. Social Studies-9/11, communities Dates to Remember Sept 10-PTA meeting and Book Fair Night Sept 10 -12 Make a Splash field trip – Students need to wear their swimsuit to school with clothes over it. They need to bring a change of clothes and a towel. Sept 13 – Both classes go to the Book Fair Sept 14 – Dot Day – wear dots, more info to come
