Johnson and Jump Journal Week of Jan. 4-12, 2018 The Leader in Me Math Unit 7 Division – Students will be learning about division as repeated subtraction, find the missing number in a multiplication table, and choosing the appropriate equation. . Facts Quiz #7 will be on Friday. It will be on 0’s, 1’s, 5’s and 10’s facts. This is a practice test. In our class, we talked about ways to keep our classroom clean and organized. Ask you child, “How can you contribute to a clean and an organized classroom?” Reading Unit 3 week 4- Comprehension skills: summarize, main idea, Genre: expository, Vocabulary skill: root word, Writing skill: organization, Grammar: future-tense verbs Vocabulary Words: effective, example, identical, imitate, material, model, observed, similar Spelling words : misprint, misread, mistrust, misspells, mistreat, precut, preview, prepaid, preplan, preheat, distrust, discount, dishonest, discovered, disabled Reading Log Homework -Students read AR books for 15 minutes Monday-Thursdays and record information in log. I check it on Fridays. *Reading logs will go home on Monday Upcoming Events December 5- Field Trip to see play –Students can bring a sack lunch or buy one from the lunchroom when we get back. December 14th – Grinch Day – activities in class, students wear green or a Grinch shirt December 19th – Winter Class Party December 20 -1/2 day of school Science/ Social Studies Science –Students will be testing their pop fly launchers and creating poster to show their designs, prices, and results. Social Studies-Native American cultures
