What is Kinder Surprise? Egg shaped Chocolate Brown Milk Chocolate on the outside White Milk Chocolate on the inside Originated in Italy by a company named Ferrero Ferrero also make Ferrero Rocher, Raffaello, Nutella est. Original name was Kinder Sorpresa but changed to Kinder Chocolate when subsidised in Germany, then finally Kinder Surprise in 1974 as

Kinder Surprise Controversy Kinder surprise sold world wide expect for United States The United States prohibits edible food with inedible food in the same product for the safety of infants Under the 1938 Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act the United States banned Kinder Surprise Substances of metal were found in the egg on one occasion

Kinder Surprise declared dangerous to infants by USA as they could choke on the toy while eating

Controversy Continued In 2012 the FDA kept the ban active due to deaths of infants across the world from choking on Kinder Surprise toys Fortune Cookies are not banned as they have a paper inside the cookie. Under the Federal Food and Drug Cosmetic Act shouldn’t the fortune cookie be banned as well? United States does not follow the Act thoroughly

Kinder Surprise and the offensive toy Kinder Surprise was targeted again for an offensive toy figure in the egg. A native Indian man was found in the egg A 3 year olds parent became concerned as the figure perpetrates a stereo type The toy figure was also inappropriate for a 3 year old as it was too violent. The native Indian man was carrying an axe and a face that resembles he was ready for war. The toy figure is offensive to the native American Indian people. The figure resembles past history re-enactments of a cultural war that existed in the US and is offensive to many people
