Recital 12 a (new) Text proposed by the Commission Amendment Proposal for a regulation Recital 12 a (new) Text proposed by the Commission Amendment (12a) It is vital that Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP) are appropriately qualified to perform their duties. In view of the wide variety of environments in which ATSEP work, it is essential that qualification can be adapted to changing work environments. Therefore, any delegated or implementing acts should provide for an explicit legal basis laying down detailed harmonized rules and guidelines on training and on the assessing the professional licensing and competence of ATSEP for different types of safety-related tasks. This would ensure the necessary level of safety, whilst taking account of the multifaceted nature of the ATSEPs tasks.

Let‘s make the skies a safer place
