Based on Alive-O 7 - Term 1, Lesson 3 Hearing the Call Based on Alive-O 7 - Term 1, Lesson 3 Refer to Teacher’s Book pp. 12-19

God’s covenant with the chosen people God takes care of them while they are asked to live in peace with one another and to take care of the people who are poor and weak.

The people often forgot to live according to the covenant The people often forgot to live according to the covenant. God called certain people - the prophets - to remind the people of their covenant with him.

The prophets called the people back to follow the way of God.

They encouraged the people to repent.

They spoke the Word of God, reminding the people of God’s great love for them.

The prophets had a hard life and they were not always very popular.

Often their lives were in danger.

They had to be strong and have courage.

They kept going because of their covenant with God and their close relationship with him.

Calling you to be a prophet: How did the prophets feel when God called them? Why did they agree to be prophets? What help did God give them? How do the scripture passages call us to be prophets?
