A transformer is an electrical device that transfers electrical energy between two or more circuits through electrom agnetic induction

Current in the primary will pass through the laminated core and secondary winding. Faraday’s second law of electromagnetic induction

Why the core is laminated? Why the efficiency is not 100%?

EDDY CURRENT DUE TO VARYING MAGNETIC FIELD IN THE LAMINATED CORE THERE WILL BE GENERATED A CURRENT KNOWN AS EDDY CURRENT. GENERATION OF EDDY CURRENT WILL CREATE HEAT,DUE TO WHICH THERE MIGHT BE SOME LOSS IN INSULATION OF THE WINDING OR CAN BE SHORT CIRCUITED. THAT’S WHY THE CORE IS LAMINATED,TO AVOID SHORT CIRCUIT.

LOSSES IN TRANSFORMER 1.HEAT LOSS CURRENT+RESITANCE(OF PRIMARY AND SECONDARY COIL). 2.EDDY CURRENT + RESISTANCE OF IRON CORE

3. FLUX LEAKAGE

4. HYSTERESIS LOSS THE SINUSOIDAL MOTION OF THE INPUT CURRENT MAKES THE MOTION OF DOMAINS ONCE N POSITIVE DIRECTION AND THEN IN NEGATIVE DIRECTION. THERE WILL BE CREATED SOME HEAT LOSS DUE TO IT.

5.HUMMING LOSS

EFFICIENCY

REFERNCES AND CONCLUSION WE SEE HERE THE DIFFERENT LOSSES AND WHY THE EFFICIENCY OF TRANSFORMER IS NOT 100%. THE WORKING OF TRANSFORMER. REFERENCES- GOOGLE PICS.
