Inventors As the United States headed toward the turn of the century (moving from 1800s to 1900s), our country was changing. Several inventors were hard at work coming up with amazing inventions that would make life much easier!

The Wright Brothers Orville and Wilbur Wright Flew first airplane in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina in 1903.

George Washington Carver Known as the “Peanut Man”. Came up with over 500 uses for peanuts.

Alexander Graham Bell Was a teacher of the deaf (people who can’t hear). Invented the telephone in 1876.

Thomas Edison Invented the light bulb in 1878. This allowed factories to stay open later.
