Where Will It Take You? 2 Sam. 11-12

Consequences of Sin Sin will take you farther than you want to go. 2 Samuel 11:2–3 (NKJV) 2 Then it happened one evening that David arose from his bed and walked on the roof of the king’s house. And from the roof he saw a woman bathing, and the woman was very beautiful to behold. 3 So David sent and inquired about the woman. And someone said, “Is this not Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?”

David: Adversity in his own house (12:11) His wives would be taken from him and be given to his neighbor who would lie with them as he had done to Uriah (12:11) It would become a public scandal (12:12) The child he and Bathsheba were going to have together would die (12:14)!

Genesis 3:5–6 (NKJV) 5 …God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
