THE PAUL HARRIS SOCIETY of DISTRICT 5170

DEFINITION The Paul Harris Society of District 5170 is a level of recognition for those donors who make a commitment to contribute $1,000 or more each year to The Rotary Foundation.

GUIDELINES Each DONOR must give a minimum $1,000 in new cash donations per year to qualify. Recognition Points, contributions to The Permanent Fund, and pledges do not count. Membership is awarded only when the full amount is received by The Rotary Foundation.

FACTS The Paul Harris Society pledge must be paid during the Rotary year (by 30 June) though it may be paid in installments.  The best payment method is to give a check to your Foundation Committee Chair. A good alternative method to make a donation is through TRF-DIRECT.

FACTS With each $1,000 gift you may NAME a new Paul Harris Fellow. Only gifts to the Annual Fund, Polio Plus Fund and Humanitarian Grants are eligible for Paul Harris Society Recognition

FACTS Your Paul Harris Society membership begins upon your contribution in the current Rotary year 2012- 2013. A personal gift already made to the 2012-2013 Annual Programs Fund counts toward your Paul Harris Society pledge.  Example:  If you've already made a $200 gift to the Foundation this Rotary year you can become a Paul Harris Society member with the gift of an additional $800.

FACTS Although Rotary International recognizes and endorses the Paul Harris Society, individual recognition is produced and awarded by the District, NOT by Rotary International.

PAYMENT Sounds like a lot but consider this: $1,000/yr = $83.33/mth or $19.23/week Use TRF-DIRECT to automatically transfer funds from a U.S. based checking, savings or credit card account to The Rotary Foundation on an ongoing basis. (US$85/month; $250/quarter; $1,000/year…)
