The earth is our common home. It is full of beauty and wonder The earth is our common home. It is full of beauty and wonder. It belongs to all living creatures.

We all need the earth for the food we eat, the water we drink and the air that we breathe.  

There should be enough for everyone to have a fair share.

But some of us are using more than our share and are wasting the earth’s gifts.

We are doing too much damage to our common home.  

We are burning too much fuel in our cars and airplanes.

We are cutting down too many trees.

We waste electricity and we throw away too many things.

The earth, our common home, is starting to look like a giant rubbish dump.

We cannot continue like this We cannot continue like this. It’s not fair, especially on people who are not wasting as much as we do.  

We can change, we can make a new start, and we can work together.
