RECAP OF OUR LAST STUDY From our last study, entitled “Assurance of Salvation”, we learnt that God has given us salvation through the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary. Faith in His Sacrifice will make one to call upon His name and get delivered from sin. Our assurance of salvation is based on God’s promise, the witness of the Spirit and the testimony of a new life. To continue in, or go back to sin, is to deliberately choose to perish in the eternal lake of fire! .

TODAY’S STUDY: LESSON 701: THE SERVICE OF CONSECRATED SAINTS MEMORY VERSE: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” (Romans 12:1). TEXT: Romans 12:3-8

SUMMARY Grace and humility in service (Romans 12:3,16): The grace that saved us is also needed for our growth and service. Grace is promised to the humble; our service should be with humility of mind. Diversity of gifts (Romans 12:4-6; 1 Corinthians 12:4,12): Spiritual gifts differ in nature but they all come from God by His grace. No believer should express superiority or inferiority towards another. Conditions of usefulness (Romans 12:6-8; 1 Peter 4:10,11): As we receive gifts by grace, we can only use them profitably through grace. We should develop our ministry; gifts are not for show but for God’s glory. We must render our service based on the foundation of sound doctrine.

CONCLUSION God gives us gifts necessary and appropriate to carry out our responsibility in His Body. For our service to be fruitful, we must be humble and yielded to the Lord. We must receive His grace, develop our ministry, be diligent and seek to glorify Him. Gifts are not for show but for the benefit of of God’s Kingdom.
