What Is Ethics? Moral principles by which people conduct themselves personally, socially, or professionally. Rules of behavior that govern a group or society.

What Is Business Ethics? A set of guidelines about how a business should conduct itself. Business must operate: Legally Ethically Humanely (kind and compassionate)

Code Of Ethics A set of guidelines for maintaining ethics in the workplace. Professional groups have their own code of ethics. Example: Doctors Lawyers Journalists Teachers

Legal Responsibility To protect our society the U.S. government sets up independent regulatory agencies. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). OSHA is a division of the Department of Labor that: Sets and enforces work related safety laws Businesses must comply with OSHA regulations.

Ethical Decision-making Continued What are three alternative actions with the best and worst case scenario? Who would be harmed by the choice and how?
