Proposal to Change the School Day

Every day finishes at 3.15pm. September 2018. What are the proposed changes? 30 lessons a week. 50 minute lessons. 6 lessons a day. Every day finishes at 3.15pm. September 2018.

Timings Example Notes Warning Bell 8.45am 5 x 6 = 30 Registration/Form 08.50am – 09.10am Lesson 1 09.10am – 10.00am Lesson 2 10.00am – 10.50am Break 10.50am – 11.05am Monday 6 Lesson 3 11.05am – 11.55am Tuesday Lesson 4 11.55am – 12.45pm Wednesday Lunch 12.45pm – 1.35pm 1.30pm Thursday Lesson 5 1.35pm – 2.25pm Friday Lesson 6 2.25pm – 3.15pm  

Reasons for the proposed changes? Additional teaching time to key areas of study across the key stages. Greater flexibility of lessons. Shorter, sharper lessons. Increased pace.

How will this affect YOU? Core subjects. EBacc subjects. RE & PE in KS4. Personal study, volunteering or work experience in KS5. Preparation for the new GCSE exams.
