What Jesus promised 13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” 14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

Lessons for us today

Does Christ’s church exist today? 1. If we will allow Christ to be it’s head then yes. 2. You cannot separate Christ from the church.

Salvation in the church 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, Ephesians 1:3

Salvation in the church 16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. Ephesians 2:16

Conclusion Only in the church of which Christ is the head is there salvation. 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4
