Acts 20:1-3a Luke records Paul’s activities before & after he wrote and sent the 2nd letter to Corinth The Ephesian uproar was over v. 1a Acts 19:23-41 Paul leaves Ephesus for Macedonia v. 1b Paul travels through the Macedonian region and “…gave much exhortation” v. 2a Paul arrives at Greece (Corinth) v. 2b Paul spends 3 months there (winter) v. 3a 1 Cor 16:6 What brethren? Philippians (Lydia, jailer) Thessalonians (Jason) Bereans (“noble”)

Paul’s Letter To Rome Written from Corinth Corinth, not Athens, the principal city of Greece Paul wintered there Acts 20:3 1 Cor 16:6 Phoebe (from Cenchrea) commended 16:1 Paul’s host where he stayed while writing this epistle was Gaius 16:23 1 Cor 1:14 Another connection between Corinth & Rome was Priscilla & Aquila 16:3-5a Acts 18:1-3, 18-19, 26 The collection for the needy saints was a major part of Paul’s 3rd journey…it was still being gathered 15:25-27

Paul’s Letter To Rome This epistle was unlike any other letter Paul wrote to a group of saints Paul had never been to Rome Previous attempts to visit the Romans had been hindered 1:11-13 15:22-23 Paul still planned to visit Rome, stopping there on his way to Spain 15:24 Acts 19:21 The Lord would later inform Paul he would indeed go to Rome Acts 23:11 Paul would finally arrive in Rome and greet the Roman saints…not as a free evangelist, but as a prisoner Acts 28:14-16 Phil 1:13
