Mission and Vision GVRA Mission: Employment and independence for Georgians with disabilities Every Georgian with a disability can work and live independently if he or she chooses to do so

Some Types of Disabilities Eligible for GVRA Learning Disabilities Intellectual/Cognitive Disabilities Physical Disabilities Sensory Disabilities Disabilities as a result of Mental Illness Medical Disabilities Neurological Disabilities …….and others Shelley to do this part and to emphasize that even though the video typically shows individuals with visible disabilities, GVRA also serves individuals with disabilities that are not visible.

Client Services at VR Offices GVRA has more than 40 office locations throughout the state to serve clients, where trained Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRCs) and other professional staff provide: Counseling and guidance Job placement assistance Supported employment Postsecondary support Vocational Training Work readiness training Assistive Work Technology On-the-Job training Pre- Employment Transition Services Shelley to do this part and give short examples of some of the services

Who Can Apply for VR Services? Any individual with a permanent disability that interferes with the individual’s ability to work Individual will meet with VR Staff & complete application- this could be done in a school setting, in the VR office or other location agreed upon by staff and potential client Counselor will get disability documentation & determine if the individual is eligible Charlotte to do this part- I will talk a little about even those with significant disabilities will be served as long as they say they want to work

After eligibility determination, what is next? Work Needs Assessment Work Plan Development Provision of Vocational Services Employment Case Closure Charlotte to do this part and discuss what happens in each status
