DREAMWEAVER Welcome to our website! “The internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow” - Bill Gates

Adobe Dreamweaver Allows the user to create, manage and enhance Websites. Adobe Dreamweaver is an industry standard for Web design. Users can use their creativity to develop webpages, integrate video and images, share information, and much more.

Creating a new webpage You are ready to begin importing files into your video sequence. Follow the next steps for importing images, audio and video footage. It is extremely important to keep all of the content for the website in one folder so that there are no broken links when the Website is finished! Open Adobe Photoshop. Choose File > Open. Browse until you find your first alphabet photo .jpg image. Click OK. Open Adobe Dreamweaver to begin. Select File>New. Choose Blank page>HTML>None. Click Create. Choose File>Save as and save your webpage as index.html

Setting up a local site A local site is a method to tell your computer where to find all of your website files. This local site will automatically check your web folder for updates to your website content. This allows for seamless interaction between your edits and the publishing of your website itself. Make sure you have opened “index.html” to complete this step.

Setting up a local site Next, choose Site>New Site. Site Name Small folder Next, choose Site>New Site. For Site Name, insert your group name. The Local Site Folder is where your website will be stored. Click the small folder and browse to your Desktop. Click Select. The website folder will now be stored on your Desktop.

Using Tables Tables are used to contain web content. Tables tell the computer how to use images and text without requiring the user to put everything in HTML code manually. Make sure you have opened index.html to begin this step.

Using Tables Choose Insert>Table. Repeat these steps with the excess footage at the end of the clip Choose Insert>Table. In the Table dialog box, change the Rows and Columns to three. Change the Table Width to 1000 pixels. Click OK. Save your document as index.html

Inserting Images You can easily insert images into Dreamweaver to add to the content of your website. When you insert any image, it must be located in the root folder on your desktop. *If your computer asks to copy any image you are trying to insert into your website to your root folder, always choose Yes or OK. Make sure you have “index.html” opened to begin.

Inserting Images Top center rectangle Using your cursor, click inside the top center rectangle on the table. Choose Insert>Image. Browse until you find the file you want. Click OK.

In the space for Alternate Text, type the name of your file. Inserting images Using alternate text creates greater accessibility for users of your website. In the space for Alternate Text, type the name of your file. Click OK.

Adding Text Choose Image > Mode > CMYK Color. Note the Properties tab at the bottom of your workspace. Click the cell containing your image. Choose Properties>Horz>Center to center align your image. Click and highlight your school name. Choose Properties>Format>Heading 1 to change your font. Change “Home” and “About FFA” as well. Choose Image > Mode > CMYK Color.

URL to the National FFA Website Adding hyperlinks Split Screen URL to the National FFA Website Split your screen. Highlight “About FFA” in the code. Click Insert>Hyperlink Copy and paste the URL from the National FFA Website into the dialog box. Click OK. Choose Image > Mode > CMYK Color.

Preview Your Website! Choose Image > Mode > CMYK Color. World Button Click on the World button. Select a browser. Choose Image > Mode > CMYK Color.

Choose Image > Mode > CMYK Color. Your Website! Choose Image > Mode > CMYK Color. Save your progress!

Let’s Review! What is the purpose of a local site? Why do all of the files included in your Website need to be in ONE folder?

Let’s Review! What is the advantage to using the split screen option while building the Website? How do you preview the Website?
