TPCASTT TITLE: What do you think this poem is about? PARAPHRASE: Line by line, put the poem in your own words. CONNOTATION: Indicate the figurative language you notice in the poem (poetic devices). ATTITUDE: What is the tone? (Think complex!) SHIFTS: Where are the turns in the poem? TITLE: Now what does the title tell you about the poem? THEME: What is the poet trying to tell the world about the human experience, human motivation, the human condition, or the world?
