Presentation transcript:

ITEMS TO CHECK ON Running Pumps Bearing flows, temperature, and pressures should be normal. Gland seal leakoff should be within reasonable limits. Pump casing temperature should be consistent with the temperature of the fluid being pumped. Suction and discharge pressures should be normal. Vibrations should be at nominal value. May be checked by hand (although this requires experience) or by a vibrometer. Noise levels should be as expected for the particular pump. Lube oil levels should be at the proper values. Constant level bubblers should have their bearing casing vents to be checked free and clear. No significant water, steam, lube oil leaks should exist. If applicable, air flow should be exiting the cooling vanes of motors. Components should generally be warm, but not hot, to the touch.
