Povijest Na Manhattanu (dio New York) su 1615. Nizozemci osnovali kolonijalnu postaju i nazvali je Novi Amsterdam. Kasnije su ga Englezi preimenovali u New York Slika Manhattana 1942.

Podaci o gradu U New Yorku živi oko 8 milijuna stanovnika Površina je 789, 4 km² i najveći je grad SAD-a Zbog veličine grad je dobio ime Big Apple (Velika Jabuka) Postoje 5 velikih gradskih četvrti : Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island Smješten na ušću rijeke Hudson i na rijeci East River
