AP Chemistry Mrs. Andre

What Is Covered? AP Chemistry is designed to be equivalent to a general chemistry course during the 1st year of college. Topics covered from Chemistry Pre-AP will include measurement, atomic structure, bonding, stoichiometry, equilibrium, etc. New topics to be covered are thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, and electrochemistry.

How Is It Covered? Chapter Reading Class Lecture Students are responsible for reading the chapter being covered. Class Lecture This is done in the form of power point. The students can also print our the chapter outline notes from the class website. Classwork & Homework Problems Examples from their homework and other texts are embedded in the class lecture Chapter Quiz A quiz with free response type questions to assess what was learned in the chapter. Unit Tests Given every 2-3 chapters (depends on topic)

Assessment Tests/Labs - 60% of grade Quizzes – 20% of grade Tests are designed to mirror AP Exam Part I – Multiple Choice Part II – Free Response Questions Quizzes – 20% of grade Will be free response type questions Classwork/Homework – 20% of grade Notebook grade included
