Who? We are…. Undergraduate and graduate students Science interests and degrees We like to…. Write Talk about writing Collaborate

What? We can work with you at any point during the writing process! Brainstorming, writing, revising Format, sources, citations Note: We do not work on the biology-specific content (results & discussion) We clarify areas of confusion to best prepare you for future writing assignments.

Why? Biology lab reports can be daunting…. But they don’t have to be! Conversation and collaboration help develop writing skills Talk through and clarify expectations of a lab report

Where and When? Group forum hours Alvin Sherman Library, room 430 Mon-Thurs: 9 A.M. - 8 P.M. Friday: 9 A.M. - 5 P.M. Saturday: 10 A.M. - 2 P.M. Sunday: 4 P.M. - 8 P.M.

Making the most of your biology session We host 45 min. appointments which start at the top of the hour! Late policy: 10 minute hold Bring lab report assignment sheets and rubrics Have 2-3 things you would like to work on Understand that everything we say are suggestions. It’s your decision to make the changes. At least ONE visit is required for BIOL 1500

Tips for your biology sessions For group appointments, understand that you are responsible for creating individual work. We may word something one way, and it is up to you and your group to ensure you all phrase it differently. Having similar data is normal, but writing similar introductions, discussions, and conclusions is strongly discouraged (plagiarism).

The Lab Report DUE Oct. 28 The lab report will be assigned September 30th The lab report is due October 28th Book one-on-one appointments early! Group forum hours do not require an RSVP, but we encourage you to come at the top of each hour.
